Learn how to make delicious bao buns from scratch at our fun class with Chef Garrett at Sichuan Kitchen SLO!
Come join us for a hands-on bao bun making class at our new location.
Chef Garrett and Coco will educate on Bao culture in China and guide you through the process of making your own. Get ready to fill, fold, and steam your way to Bao perfection!
Each participant will make about 5 Bao. Enjoy the culminating feast of your own Bao, sauce bar, and other tasty Sichuan Kitchen SLO treats to round out the meal

The price of the class includes all instruction, your dinner and Bao to take home.
Bring a To-go Container for leftovers!
There will be a meat filling and vegetarian filling.

Feb 4 - Chili Oil Class
Learn how to make your own chili oil, its history in China, and how to use it during our class at our new kitchen space.
Chili Oil Making Class
Spice up your evening with a hands-on chili oil making class!
Chef Garrett and Coco will guide you through the process of crafting your own fragrant, fiery chili oil—the heart of Sichuan cooking. Learn about the history, flavors, and techniques that make this condiment so iconic.
Each participant will create a custom jar of chili oil to take home, perfectly balanced to your own taste preferences. During class, we’ll use your fresh chili oil to build quick, flavor-packed dishes like refreshing Sichuan-style salads and cold noodles—dishes you’ll make and enjoy right at the table!
The price includes expert instruction, your own chili oil to take home, and your dinner.
***Bring a 1000ml (32oz) jar/container for your chili oil, and a to-go box for leftovers. We will have extra deli cups for those who cant bring their own.
Jan 28 - Noodle Making Class
Pull, cut and boil your way to noodle paradise!
Join Chef Garrett and Coco of Sichuan Kitchen SLO for a Noodle Making Workshop at our new kitchen space. Learn about noodle culture in China and where to find authentic ingredients. Get hands-on experience making your own noodles with demonstration and guidance by Garrett and Coco. Enjoy the noodles of your labor with a customizable sauce bar or choose one of Sichuan Kitchen SLO's signature sauces and toppings. We will serve a few extra dishes to round out the meal.

Feb 8 - Afghan Educational Dinner Experience
Join Chef Sophia Zekria from Kor Kitchen for a cultural Afghan dinner experience that goes far beyond the plate. Enjoy a welcoming drink, traditional bites, and a full meal inspired by family recipes passed down through generations of Afghan home cooking. Come sit together, learn the stories behind each dish, and share an evening of warmth, tradition, and community.

Feb 13 - Valentines Day Dinner and Dumpling Class
Valentine’s Dumpling-Making Class + Dinner
6-8pm 2078 Parker St.
Celebrate Valentine’s week with a cozy, hands-on dumpling-making night at Sichuan Kitchen SLO. In this class, we’ll guide you step-by-step through folding beautiful dumplings, learning simple techniques for sealing, shaping, and cooking them so they come out juicy and satisfying every time. Special for our Valentines Day Class, we will show Heart Shaped Dumpling and serve a complementary Date Night Dessert.
To make it a full Valentine’s meal, we’ll also serve a few complementary dishes alongside the dumplings. Expect a relaxed, date-night atmosphere with great food, good conversation, and plenty of dumplings to enjoy together.
No experience needed—just come hungry and ready to learn.
